Dear Ski Patrol Applicant,
The Cody St. John Memorial Scholarship is officially open and accepting applications from Professional Ski Patrollers for the present ski season! These continuing medical education scholarships can include, but are not limited to CNA, EMT, LPN, RN, and First Aid Training programs. TCSJF is committed to awarding five scholarships of up to $1000 each, depending on the cost of the program.
Since Cody’s passing, we have established The Cody St. John Foundation as the only non-profit organization in the country that is working to benefit Professional Ski Patrollers. By awarding scholarships for continuing medical education, we aim to better equip Ski Patrollers everywhere in their mission to provide top-notch emergency medical care on their local mountain.
The Cody St. John Foundation continues to succeed in our mission of awarding scholarships to qualified professional ski patrollers to further their medical education. Each year we are committed to awarding five scholarships for medical education. The Scholarship Recipients are publicly announced at our post-race lunch and Awards Ceremony. All of our scholarship recipients have shared a similar love for patrolling and passion for serving others, as Cody did in Steamboat. Cody had a reputation for always wearing his jacket at lunch and sitting by the door waiting for a call to come across the radio. Before anyone could answer, he was out the door, strapped in and on his way. Still today, Cody is an inspiration to his fellow Ski Patrollers. Those that knew him, loved him and those that were not fortunate enough to know him, wished they had. He was the guy you wanted to be friends with, the buddy you wanted to ride with on a powder day, the Patroller who made each patient feel safe and calm. He was one of the greats.
This same spirit shines bright in our best applicants. We feel fortunate to have heard the personal stories, struggles and triumphs from all of our applicants, and we’re looking forward to hearing from you!
The completed scholarship application along with one written recommendation is due by March 1st.
